Cognitive-behavioural Therapy
Cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) is established as one of the most evidence-based, results oriented solutions for symptoms of anxiety and depression. It emphasizes thinking and how we feel about what we do. In short, our thoughts play a key role in influencing what we feel and do. CBT is considered to be shorter term, and therefore more cost-effective therapy that is well supported in the research. CBT views the therapist in a collaborative role assisting the client to think differently and subsequently respond differently to stress. It helps clients to unlearn their distressing negative reactions and educates clients to healthier thought processes and actions. It incorporates homework to further facilitate the rate of change. CBT is solution focused and directive in nature, actively working toward the client’s goals.
Our licenced counsellors are all trained and experienced in CBT. They witness first hand the relief when clients report a decrease in their level of anxiety and depression. Clients report a dramatic change to their perspective and more access to inner calm and joy. And clients note the positive impact these changes have on not only their own experience but also on how they show up in their relationships- more fully present and engaged with those that matter in their lives.
If you can relate to some of this, why not book now. You can feel better, more confident and stop the anxiety and/or depression from taking away from the quality of your life! We know these symptoms are very responsive to CBT counselling treatment!
Our counsellors often use CBT along with other modalities catered to the specific goals of each client.
